Grade 1 Teacher - Position

Position: Grade 1 Teacher - Occasional Position
The OCSB is hiring a Long Term Occasional Grade 1 teacher to cover a leave. Qualified candidates must be in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers and have completed necessary training.

This position focuses on delivering high-quality instruction to young students during their primary teacher’s absence. Successful applicants will be chosen based on seniority and must have a commitment to maintaining a supportive learning environment. The school board values diversity and is looking for teachers who reflect the community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive lessons for Grade 1 curriculum

• Engage students through interactive learning activities

• Assess student needs and adapt teaching methods

• Communicate classroom progress with school administration

• Attend professional training and staff meetings

Requirements:

• Good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers

• Completion of Sexual Abuse Prevention Training

• Relevant classroom experience with young children

• Flexibility for the assignment duration

• Commitment to diversity and inclusion in the classroom
