Join OCSB as a Casual Educational Assistant to support students with special needs. Provide tailored assistance and contribute to their academic and emotional growth within the classroom.
The OCSB is looking for a motivated Casual Educational Assistant to work under the direction of a principal and classroom teacher. In this role, you will focus on promoting the academic success and well-being of students facing various challenges, including physical or emotional difficulties. Your efforts will be vital in creating a nurturing classroom environment conducive to their development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide tailored academic support for students with disabilities
• Manage students’ physical and emotional hygiene needs
• Collaborate with educational teams to enhance classroom strategies
• Participate in training and development initiatives as needed
• Adapt to various roles to meet the unique needs of each student
Requirements:
• Secondary school diploma is necessary
• Community college diploma in a relevant field preferred
• 2 years of experience with children facing learning challenges
• Knowledge of Braille, CPR/First Aid, and behavioral techniques
• Excellent initiative and rapport-building skills with children
