High School Math/Science Teacher/Tutor Wanted

Gain valuable teaching experience at Oxford Learning Barrhaven, a part‑time teacher‑tutor position in our learning centre. This role is ideal for those who enjoy working with students, love numbers and equations, and are passionate about developing others' skills.
Position RequirementsAll Teacher‑Tutors work after‑school and evenings (4:00 pm–8:00 pm) and some Saturdays (9:00 am–3:00 pm). A commitment through the school year is preferred and continuing into summer is even better. The role is in‑person; applicants must commute to the location and be able to complete vulnerable sector screening.
Education- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field
- University students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
- Teaching certification an asset
- Good knowledge of current Grades 9‑12 math and science curriculum at the senior level (e.g., Advanced Functions, Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Vectors, Physics, Chemistry, Biology)
- Experience teaching/tutoring math and science at Grade 9‑12 or equivalent level
- Strong English written and oral communication skills
- Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students simultaneously
- Teach up to three students simultaneously at different levels
- Deliver instruction online and in‑person
- Apply Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
- Complete post‑lesson notes
- Maintain daily student communication updates
- Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times
