Adult Literacy Computer Skills Educator

Join People, Words & Change as an Adult Literacy Computer Skills Educator in Ottawa. This on-site role requires an empathetic instructor to teach basic digital skills to adult learners.

In this position, you will maintain an engaging curriculum for diverse learners at beginner and intermediate levels. You will also monitor progress, adapt to individual learning needs, and develop new instructional modules. Participation in PWC events and some local travel may be required, offering a chance to influence adult education positively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction for beginner computer skills

• Monitor learners’ progress and adapt approaches

• Update and develop relevant instructional modules

• Research resources to enhance computer lab experience

• Manage social media and promotional content

Requirements:

• Teaching certification or equivalent experience

• Experience teaching adult literacy or ESL

• Proficiency in Windows 11, Word, and foundational Excel

• Strong written and verbal English communication

• Teamwork and interpersonal skills
