Camper Behaviour Support

The Camper Behaviour Support is enthusiastic and has excellent organizational and time management skills. This position supports camp leaders by monitoring camper behaviour, assisting with the delivery of activities, providing mentorship to staff, and ensuring health, safety, and program protocols are followed.

Responsibilities
  • Report to the Camp Leaders and participate in weekly mentorship sessions to support skill development and career growth
  • Monitor camper well-being, behaviour, and group dynamics
  • Implement proactive behaviour strategies and provide camper support and coaching
  • Serve as head office contact for behavioural incident reports
  • Support drop‑off and pick‑up windows with STEM bin engagement activities
  • Support activity delivery when not actively managing camper behaviour
  • Incorporate technology and digital skill‑building opportunities into daily activities (coding, robotics, foundational AI skills)
  • Mentor Counsellors and CITs on behaviour management, activity facilitation, and STEM/digital skills
  • Model appropriate behaviour and positive interactions
  • Work independently while following STEM Camp policies and procedures
  • Support and address staff concerns
  • Carry out other reasonable duties requested by the Camp Coordinator, Program Coordinator, or Management Team

Note: Candidates applying for any position with STEM Camp must have a valid certificate in Standard First Aid with CPR‑C from a reputable provider of first aid training as recognized by WSIB / WCB / Work Safe BC, as well as a Police Check in the Vulnerable Sector that was issued no earlier than August 28, 2025.

Successful Candidates Should Possess
  • Experience supporting and managing children’s behaviour, including implementing proactive behaviour strategies
  • Educational Assistant (EA) or Early Childhood Education (ECE) credentials considered an asset
  • Knowledge and understanding of STEM related topics
  • Inspirational and creative thinking skills
  • Customer service‑oriented mindset
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills with the ability to take initiative
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to adapt to change
  • The ability to anticipate problems and opportunities, and develop effective solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to commute to workplace location
  • This position may be through the Canada Summer Jobs program. Applicants must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons to be eligible.
What to Expect

Although our camp season runs in July and August, we are looking for Camp Behaviour Coordinators to begin training in late June 2026. This is a full‑time, contract role that is a great opportunity for people who enjoy working with children.

Hourly Wage

$17.60 per hour
