Duties

The Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC) is at the forefront of ensuring the safety of Canadians and the integrity of Canada’s financial system. As Canada’s financial intelligence unit and AML/ATF supervisor, FINTRAC helps combat money laundering, terrorist financing, and threats to the security of Canada.

As the Language Advisor and Supervisor of the FINTRAC Language School, you will be responsible for managing the language training program within FINTRAC. Reporting to the Managing Director, People Services and Operations, the Language Advisor and Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of the language training curriculum, conducting annual planning exercises, leading the scheduling of classes, overseeing student placement, providing language training advice to clients and their managers, producing regular reports on language training program, overseeing a team of Language Trainers and providing language training services, as needed (i.e. delivering classes).

The selected candidate will physically work in our Ottawa office. In-office presence is required a minimum of 3 times / week or more based on operational requirements.

Top Secret security clearance - You must be a Canadian Citizen and eligible for a Top Secret security clearance to FINTRAC's standards.

EDUCATION:

ED1 - Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in education or some other specialty relevant to the position.

EXPERIENCE:

EX1 - Recent
* and significant
* experience in using technology in a language teaching context (in person, virtual or online learning);

EX2 - Recent
* and significant
* experience in developing and maintaining language training curriculum;

EX3 - Experience in supervising a team.

Recent
* experience is defined as experience acquired within the last 5 years.

Significant
** experience is defined as the breadth and depth of experience normally associated with the performance of the duties for a period of at least two (2) years.
