Sessional Instructor: Métis Education Challenges

Gabriel Dumont College is looking for a sessional instructor to teach Social & Political Issues in Métis Education as part of the Indigenous Education Doctorate program, focusing on real-world challenges.

In this online position, you will explore historical and contemporary social and political issues regarding Métis education. Candidates must be well-versed in the Saskatchewan curriculum and know various educational frameworks relevant to Métis contexts. Your responsibilities will include course planning and classroom management, providing a conducive learning atmosphere for students throughout the term.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver course content on significant Métis educational challenges

• Evaluate student understanding and provide constructive feedback

• Encourage a culturally responsive teaching methodology

• Manage classroom interactions effectively

Requirements:

• Doctorate or Ph.D. in Education

• Familiarity with Saskatchewan educational systems

• Relevant university teaching experience is an asset

• Approval from the University of Regina required

• Comprehensive knowledge of Métis education issues
