The Lead Technical Instructor plays a vital role in delivering high-quality technical training for programs focused on carpentry, renovation, and green building. Responsible for curriculum design and oversight of Technical Instructors, this position requires mentorship, industry engagement, and a commitment to YMCA's mission of inclusivity. You'll ensure a high standard of training delivery while supporting students’ transition into employment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and mentor Technical Instructors and program participants
• Respond to technical inquiries and safety concerns
• Maintain workshop equipment and manage inventory
• Lead instruction through demonstrations and workshops
• Create a technical training schedule integrating industry activities
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education or equivalent in a related field
• Minimum 5 years in construction or home renovation industry
• Teaching experience in a trades setting
• Advanced communication skills
• Valid permit to work in Canada
