We are seeking creative, dynamic, and committed teachers to join our team at Jack Donohue Elementary School.

Jack Donohue Public School opened in September 2004 and was named after the late legendary Canadian National Basketball coach Jack Donohue. JDPS is dedicated to providing an enriched and stimulating learning environment for students from JK to grade
8. JDPS is a dual-track school which offers both English/Core French and Early French Immersion programs. The staff and students at JDPS work closely with the community and our families to support each other in developing life‑long learners in a safe and positive learning environment.

Ideal candidates will support the fulfillment of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board’s (OCDSB) Strategic Plan to enhance the quality of education in the school, and the District, by creating a positive and inclusive school climate, learning and workplace environment. Candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and respectfully, with a human rights and equity perspective, to foster student success, achievement and well‑being.

  • All Occasional Teachers are eligible to apply for Long Term Occasional postings for which they are qualified. If you are fully external to the OCDSB, you may apply to this posting if you have the required qualifications.
  • Current elementary occasional teacher applicants, followed by Qualified external applicants.

A minimum of 3 qualified applicants will be offered an interview, including:

  • At least three (3) teachers, who are currently employed as an occasional teacher with the OCDSB, and who have the required OCT qualifications and who best meet the criteria outlined in the job posting.
  • If fewer than three (3) qualified applicants apply, all qualified applicants will be interviewed.

It is the expectation that a teacher who accepts an assignment must agree to complete the assignment as posted.
