Position: Part-Time Carpentry Professor at Algonquin College

Under the direction of the Chair of Architecture, Construction, and Civil, the professor will teach within the Algonquin Center for Construction Excellence. This role focuses on curriculum design, instructional delivery, student engagement, and administrative responsibilities. Ideal candidates possess strong carpentry credentials and passion for education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach General Carpentry Apprenticeship courses across terms

• Guide curriculum development and learning outcomes assessment

• Provide academic advising and tutoring for students

• Evaluate student progress and ensure effective learning environments

• Attend departmental meetings and engage in community outreach

Requirements:

• 403A Red Seal General Carpenter Certificate

• Minimum five years’ experience in General Carpentry

• Two years of teaching experience preferred

• Familiarity with educational technologies

• Commitment to continuous professional development
