Qualifications:- Illinois Professional Educator License (plus endorsement in Early Childhood)
- Current endorsement in special education or Learning Behavior Specialist License with an endorsement in early childhood
- Previous experience teaching in the area of assignment within the last 4 years and/or coursework in the area of assignment within the last 3 years
- Comprehensive knowledge, understanding, and skill in the content area/assignment
- Knowledge and experience with Google Suite
- Fluency and literacy in English and Spanish are preferred but not required
- Provide and implement educational plans that are compliant with Federal guidelines.
- Use appropriate and effective strategies in instructing students on the autism spectrum.
- Provide direction to and work collaboratively with paraprofessional educators in the classroom.
- Demonstrate knowledge of task analysis and sequential skills development.
- Plan daily activities consistent with instructional objectives.
- Write behavior management objectives based on information collected during observations using data-based techniques and evaluate the implementation of these objectives.
- Involve parents directly in individual education plan development, plan implementation as needed, and provide them with progress updates.
- Utilize best practices for the application of assistive technology in line with student needs.
- Provide individualized, small-group, and whole-group instruction needed to ensure advancement of all students.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to the learning for all students ages 3-5 years.
- Prepare classrooms with a variety of materials or resources for children to explore, manipulate, or use in learning activities or imaginative play.
- Observe and assess students' performance in various domains.
- Arrange indoor or outdoor space to facilitate creative play, motor-skill activities, or safety.
- Attend to children's basic needs by feeding them, dressing them, or changing their diapers.
- Communicate nonverbally with children to provide them with comfort, encouragement, or positive reinforcement.
- Perform other tasks and projects as assigned by the Building Administrator.
