EIP Conversation Workshop Assistant

Enhance student learning as a Teaching Assistant for the EIP Conversation Workshop at the University of Ottawa, focusing on spoken English development. Lead engaging sessions every Monday!

In this role, you will be part of the Faculty of Arts at the Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute. Your primary responsibilities include facilitating interactive conversation sessions, taking attendance, and creating an inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation. Previous experience in student-centered activities will be beneficial as you help students practice English in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate informal conversation sessions for English practice

• Encourage student participation and sustain discussions

• Support respectful interactions among students

• Adapt conversation prompts for diverse interests

• Report session details to the Academic Services Coordinator

Requirements:

• Strong spoken English and communication skills

• Experience with language practice activities is an asset

• Intercultural awareness preferred

• Ability to facilitate group discussions

• Training to be completed as required
