Special Needs Educational Assistant

As part of the school team, you will work closely with teaching staff to provide tailored support for students, especially those with challenges in communication and learning. Responsibilities include academic assistance, participation in specialized programs, and managing diverse student needs to ensure every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with special programs for unique learning needs

• Modify learning materials for Deaf and hard of hearing students

• Conduct physiotherapy exercises and promote student well-being

• Provide academic support in structured environments

• Supervise outdoor activities and personal care when needed

Requirements:

• Diploma in Developmental Services or Child and Youth Care

• Experience working with special needs children (1-2 years)

• Certifications in First Aid and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention

• Proficient in American Sign Language

• Strong communication skills to relay lessons
