Take on an impactful role as an Instructor for the ESL segment of the Student Teaching Program at the University of Ottawa. This part-time position focuses on fostering comprehensive language development.
The Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute (OLBI) at the University of Ottawa seeks an instructor for the Fall 2026 semester, starting November 2. You will engage undergraduate students from Universidad del Atlántico through interactive and culturally relevant lessons. Close collaboration with fellow instructors is essential to align course delivery with effective teaching practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop interactive lessons that cover essential communication skills
• Create an immersive environment for cultural engagement
• Collaborate closely with teaching assistants on course components
• Supervise and support students’ capstone project completion
• Adapt instructional methods to fit the learning needs of students
Requirements:
• Master’s degree in TESL or a relevant field
• Two years of ESL teaching experience at college/university level
• Experience with teaching ESL courses preferred
• Valid TESL Certification or its equivalent
• Experience in team-teaching settings
