Description:
Lead the English Language Development stream of the Student Teaching in English Program (STEP) for undergraduate students from Universidad del Atlántico, delivered at the University of Ottawa's Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute (OLBI). This seven-week component builds communicative confidence and cultural fluency through immersive, task-based learning in Canadian social, campus, community, and academic contexts. The instructor will design and deliver interactive lessons that develop speaking, listening, presentation, interview, comparison, and reflective communication skills, culminating in a capstone project.
The role requires close collaboration with the instructor and teaching assistant in the TEFL Methodology and Language Enrichment components of the program so that language development and teaching methodology reinforce one another throughout the program.
Comments:
This course is offered exclusively on the University of Ottawa campus and requires in-person instruction.

- Two years of experience teaching ESL at the college/university level.
- Previous experience teaching this course or an equivalent ESL course.
