Ce cours a pour objet de répondre à l'appel à l'action no 28 de la Commission de vérité et réconciliation du Canada. Il vise, d'une part, à présenter l'histoire et les séquelles des pensionnats autochtones, la Déclaration des Nations Unies sur les droits des peuples autochtones, les traités et les droits des Autochtones, le droit autochtone, et les relations entre l'État et les Autochtones.
Il vise, d'autre part, à favoriser le développement de compétences en matière d'aptitude interculturelle, de règlement de différends, des droits de la personne et de la lutte contre le racisme.

Requirements:La Section de common law veut recruter des professeurs à temps partiel qui sont des leaders dans la profession juridique. Pour ce cours, un LL.B. ou un J.D. est nécessaire. Le candidat ou candidate doit aussi être membre en bonne et due forme du Barreau de l'Ontario (ou son équivalent). Il ou elle doit aussi avoir une expérience significative dans ce domaine.
Le fait d'avoir enseigné ce cours auparavant est un atout.
