Position: Educational Assistant for Learning Support
Empower students with special needs as an Educational Assistant at the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, where your support makes a difference in their educational journey. This position is focused on enhancing learning through dedicated assistance.

As an Educational Assistant, you will assist students requiring additional support under the guidance of the Principal. You will engage with students who have Autism Spectrum Disorder, learning disabilities, and speech/language challenges. The role emphasizes collaboration with educators to modify learning plans, provide behavior management, and fulfill physical requirements. Your flexibility and dependability will be key to meeting students' diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist students with exceptional needs in the classroom

• Implement tailored academic programs and support strategies

• Participate in yard duties and personal care as required

• Observe and document student progress and behaviors

• Engage with assistive technology to enhance learning

Requirements:

• Community college diploma in a relevant field

• 1-2 years experience supporting special needs children

• Certification in First Aid/CPR is advantageous

• Successful completion of crisis intervention training

• Knowledge of suitable educational software tools
