Classroom Support Worker in South

Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a 5-year-old during school hours in South Ottawa. Join a dynamic classroom environment committed to engaging young learners every day.

This role involves supporting a child with additional needs in a private school, working four days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Your responsibilities include helping with activities, managing transitions, facilitating social interactions, and assisting with self-care. You will collaborate with the teacher, adhering to classroom expectations for a seamless learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the child in staying engaged with classroom activities

• Manage transitions smoothly between different tasks

• Support social interactions with classmates

• Help with self-care routines as required

• Collaborate with the teacher to meet classroom expectations

Requirements:

• Experience as a DSW, ECE, CYC, SSW, or in a similar role

• Comfortable working within a classroom setting

• Patient and consistent approach to support

• Clear vulnerable sector police check required

• Own transportation to South Ottawa
