The OCSB is seeking a dedicated Educational Assistant for a term assignment in Ottawa, Ontario. This role is focused on supporting students with developmental or behavioral challenges while fostering their academic growth. You’ll work closely with teachers to address various student needs, ensuring a safe and effective learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the classroom for students with specific needs

• Support students’ academic development and emotional well-being

• Respond to physical, emotional, and hygiene needs

• Collaborate with teachers and staff to enhance educational programs

• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the school principal

Requirements:

• Secondary school diploma required

• 2-year Community college diploma or equivalent degree

• Minimum 2 years experience with children having disabilities

• Knowledge of behavior support strategies is an asset

• Strong communication skills to relate with students
