Mentor IAWAH Gap Year participants through residential leadership, spiritual formation, and outdoor programming in a seasonal live-in assignment. Live alongside the cohort while supporting daily operations.
The Gap Year Resident Leader works under the Gap Year Program Director as a resident mentor and consistent in-house presence. You will oversee dorm life, support participant wellbeing, and help deliver discussions, teaching, outdoor activities, and logistics. The position runs nine months from August 9, 2027, to April 29, 2028, with an optional extension.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain an approachable presence during evening and weekend check-ins
- Uphold quiet hours, chores, curfews, and shared-space cleanliness
- Mediate conflicts and escalate concerns to the Director
- Assist with discussions, spiritual formation, and teaching sessions
- Prepare outdoor programming and international outreach trip logistics
- Post-secondary education preferred in relevant fields
- Christian camp, residential life, or youth ministry experience valued
- Willingness to model IAWAH’s Statement of Faith and Values
- Remote First Aid and CPR-C or Wilderness First Responder required
- Valid Canadian G Licence and communal living comfort
