The Ottawa Catholic School Board seeks a term Educational Assistant for a school in Ottawa. Working under the principal’s direction and classroom teacher’s instructional supervision, you will support students with specific physical, intellectual, behavioural, medical, or learning needs. The assignment may involve classroom or special education settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students with identified developmental, physical, sensory, or behavioural needs
Assist students’ academic development within classroom settings
Respond to physical, emotional, and hygienic needs
Support toileting and other assigned student care requirements
Contribute to educational programming as a school team member
Requirements:
Secondary school diploma
Two year related community college diploma or child related university degree
Two years’ relevant experience supporting children with disabilities or learning difficulties
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to establish rapport with children
Use student support, communication, and care abilities as a term Educational Assistant serving learners through the OCSB.
