Field Safety Advisor - Restoration Projects

Total Group of Companies is an industrial service company specializing in fire, rescue, medical, and HSE services. With facilities in Red Deer, Guelph, Elora, and Winnipeg, we proudly service clients across Canada.
We are currently seeking 6–10 Safety Advisors local to the Toronto and Ottawa areas to support upcoming restoration projects.
These roles will involve working closely with site teams to help maintain a safe, compliant, and organized work environment while supporting day‑to‑day safety operations on active project sites. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast‑paced industrial or construction‑type setting and be able to provide professional safety oversight, guidance, and support to workers and site leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Support site personnel in working safely and in compliance with OHS requirements
- Conduct hazard identification, assessment, and control
- Set up, inspect, and maintain safety equipment and PPE
- Monitor work activities and exercise stop‑work authority when required
- Report hazards, near misses, incidents, and injuries in a timely manner
- Deliver safety orientations and task‑specific training
- Assist with air monitoring, confined space monitoring, respiratory protection requirements, and rescue plan support as required by project scope
- Assist with general site housekeeping and safety oversight
- Safety‑driven with a strong attention to detail
- Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and basic computer skills
- Willingness to learn and follow established procedures
- Experience surrounding hazardous materials, or restoration site safety considered an asset
- Authorized to work in Canada and 19 years of age or older
- Valid driver’s license with minimum 3 years’ driving experience and acceptable abstract
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 75lbs
- Willing and able to travel and work outdoors in varying conditions
- Able to pass pre‑access drug and alcohol testing
- Previous experience in a safety role
- Strong working knowledge of OH&S legislation and specialized PPE
- Safety designation (NCSO, CRSP, or equivalent)
- First Aid
- Additional certifications may be required based on project scope
