Environmental Technician at GFL

GFL Environmental is seeking a skilled Environmental Technician to manage waste processing operations. This role includes training and hands-on work with hazardous materials across North America.

This position involves training on day shifts, with an emphasis on safety practices and effective waste management. You will engage in activities such as receiving client waste, processing materials, and preparing hazardous shipments. Ensure incoming waste complies with acceptance protocols while providing top-notch customer service throughout.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive and process bulk and containerized client waste

• Operate plant machinery and assist with maintenance

• Load and unload various waste vehicles

• Conduct job hazard risk assessments and maintain paperwork

• Attend Household Hazardous Waste collection events

Requirements:

• Must be physically fit for repetitive lifting tasks

• Comfortable working at heights, including climbing

• Clean-shaven for respirator safety compliance

• Availability for weekend collection events
