Senior Mechanical Engineer – Power Generation
WSP is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design, engineering, and client delivery for power generation facilities across Canada. As a key member of the Energy division, you will collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams on projects ranging from biomass and hydrogen plants to fossil fuel and carbon capture systems.
Responsibilities- Design mechanical piping and equipment for renewable and fossil power generation facilities.
- Evaluate design techniques, industry codes, and standards; perform high‑complexity engineering designs.
- Develop P&IDs and sizing calculations for major power plant systems.
- Prepare construction and installation scopes of work for mechanical systems.
- Coordinate with drafters, designers, and engineers; provide technical mentoring and oversight.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
- 10+ years of mechanical engineering design experience within EPCM environments; focus on industrial facilities preferred.
- Current licensed professional engineer (P.Eng, Ing, PE) in the province of practice.
- Experience with power plant, renewable natural gas plant design desired.
- Proven senior mechanical expertise; ability to lead and mentor clients.
- Working knowledge of Microstation, AutoCAD, Smart Plant 3D, CADworx, Caesar II, Auto Pipe, Thermoflow.
Canadian office preference:
Calgary, AB;
Moncton, NB;
Kitchener, ON; other Canadian offices available.
BC range: $136,200 – $187,200. Salary awarded may vary based on qualifications and business needs.
