What will you be doing!- Preparing or reviewing commissioning documentation such as Project Commissioning Plans, System-Level Commissioning Plans, Commissioning Specification Objectives, Commissioning Procedures and factory and site acceptance tests (FAT/SAT).
- Coordinating the execution of commissioning tests with Maintenance and Operations groups, as required.
- Initiating work requests, Improvement Actions (Imp Acts), etc. for any remedial actions and ensuring required work is addressed.
- Interfacing with design participants, operations engineers, field engineers and nuclear operators and obtaining technical input, as required, meeting project and customer requirements.
- Reviewing commissioning test results against Acceptance Criteria or Expected Results for acceptability.
- Preparing and reviewing Commissioning Reports and related documentation during the course of the commissioning program, as required.
- Ensuring Commissioning Procedures are complete in all respects and meet quality assurance (QA) requirements.
- Collating Commissioning Completion Assurance packages for commissioned systems.
- Ensuring that the commissioned systems are successfully turned over to customer.
- Providing technical leadership for all phases of the commissioning lifecycle on various multiple concurrent and sequential commissioning projects.
- Fulfilling the role of Commissioning Manager, Commissioning Team Leader or Commissioning Engineer/Specialist after qualification as assigned by the Commissioning Manager or Commissioning Functional Support Manager.
- Promoting and overseeing a positive Health and Safety culture in alignment with Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL’s) Core Values whilst commissioning activities are being undertaken by implement CNL’s Health and Safety Policy and related programs during all phases of commissioning work.
- Reviewing and updating commissioning safety and related training material.
- Contributing to and/or reviewing for technical accuracy and compliance, the production of concise commissioning documentation such as schedules, plans, procedures and reports ensuring timely responses to meet the objectives of the commissioning schedule of assigned projects.
- Recommending project-specific technical training, if needed, to support the project commissioning plan.
- Providing support for assessment activities such as self-assessments, internal audits and external audits (including Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission inspections) by assembling commissioning documents, commissioning records and participating in interviews.
- Providing suggestions to improve the overall effectiveness of the Commissioning
Functional Area
procedures to the Commissioning Functional Support Manager. - Other duties as assigned by your manager.
- Education
- A relevant Bachelor (Honours) in Engineering or technology diploma from an institution of recognized standing, demonstrating a strong technical background
- Eligible for membership in an engineering or scientific professional organization authorized by statute to establish qualification for membership in that organization (e.g. P. Eng (PEOP), C.E.T. (OACETT))
- Certified Building Commissioning Professional (AEE) or similar is an asset.
- Experience
- Seven (7) to ten (10) years of relevant design, construction and commissioning experience in a multi-disciplined project environment.
- Technical experience (5+ years in one or more engineering disciplines (i.e. electrical power systems, HVAC/ventilation systems, chemical process systems, mechanical systems).
- Sound working knowledge of project management principles.
- Track record for delivering to commissioning deadlines in regulated environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of technical methods and resources required for the planning and execution of commissioning work.
