Job SummaryAs a Project Engineer, you will report to the Engineering Director and be responsible for the organization, coordination, and control of all phases of assigned projects, ensuring compliance with applicable airworthiness standards such as DO‑160 and DO‑178C. You will serve as the primary interface between the Engineering team and cross‑functional groups within CMC Electronics. Projects involve the development of certified aircraft systems encompassing both hardware and software, from requirements definition through verification and certification.

Key Responsibilities Include
- Preparing Engineering Estimates and Engineering Development Plans
- Executing Engineering Development Plans while proactively identifying and mitigating risks that could delay schedules or impact deliverables
- Leading engineering project teams to respect budget, schedule, and ensure quality deliveries, driving mitigation plans when required
- Identifying user stories and detailed tasks with the engineering team, assigning priorities and communicating requirements and deadlines
- Working with Program Management, Airworthiness, Quality, and Manufacturing to advance project execution
- Producing and presenting status reports for management review
- Creating and maintaining project plans in Primavera
- Supporting customer technical meetings and bids & proposals
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering, or Computer Science
- Have a minimum of 7 years of experience in hardware and software design in the field of avionics or military products
- Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, including technical risk oversight and managing teams of 10+ people, including remote teams
- Demonstrate success in executing and leading complex technical projects requiring cost, schedule, and risk management
- Demonstrate understanding of requirements management for hardware and/or software system development
- Be driven for results and thrive under pressure
- Be available to travel to CMC Electronics US locations once per month initially
- Knowledge of DO‑178C and DO‑254 quality standards
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts at all levels of the organization
- Experience working on certified and regulated technical systems
