Ciena’s Converged Packet Optical (CPO) family of products unlock the network’s full potential—leveraging advanced Wave Logic coherent optics, automated OTN, packet and SONET/SDH switching, control plane, and unified network management to help network operators scale, manage, and differentiate their services.

• Work with experienced mentors in the multi-disciplinary Platform Systems Architecture team to help define and validate innovative new products and features.
• Support the architecture, hardware, software, and product verification teams on the development and testing of new products.
• Contribute to the documentation of design specifications, test plans, and technical reports.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize system performance.
• Participate in research and development activities to explore new technologies and concepts in optical communications.
• Learn and apply industry best practices for optical system design and testing.

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.

• Basic understanding of optical communication principles, fiber optics, and optical components (lasers, detectors, modulators, etc.).
• Excel skills and experience with a scripting language such as Python are assets.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and quickly respond to changing priorities.

The hourly pay range for this position is $25.00 - $34.00.

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business.
