About the Role
We are looking for an Engineer to work on power line structures and transmission and distribution (T&D). The role involves the design and oversight of power transmission line structures, preparing studies, technical reports, estimates, coordinating drafting and technical staff, ensuring quality control, managing project files, preparing service offers, site visits, and building client relationships.
Primary Responsibilities- Under the supervision of project managers, take charge of specific aspects of projects related to power transmission line structures.
- Prepare studies and write technical reports and estimates.
- Prepare information for drafting.
- Coordinate and supervise the work of technicians and draftsmen involved in the projects for which he or she is responsible.
- Ensure quality control of project-related practices.
- Manage files: planning and administrative follow‑up.
- Participate in the preparation of service offers.
- Visit project sites and participate in the supervision of construction sites (when required).
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients and become a project manager with the support of a mentor.
- University degree in civil engineering.
- Member of a Canadian provincial engineering association, or eligible for registration.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in structural design (mainly steel and concrete structures) and/or power transmission lines.
- Knowledge of the PLS software suite (PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, PLS-TOWER) (an asset).
- Experience in substation or line structure design (an asset).
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
- Autonomy, initiative, and ability to work in a team.
- Experience in project management (an asset).
Compensation for this role is based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications, while maintaining internal equity. The level and associated salary may vary depending on the candidate’s profile.
