Position: Ciena Hardware Engineer for Wavelogic
Join Ciena as a Hardware Engineer specializing in Wavelogic technology, contributing to the design of cutting-edge optical modems used by industry leaders like Verizon and AT&T.
In this role, you will collaborate with six engineers under a Senior Manager, Hardware Engineering, focusing on hardware design processes, lab validation, and component specification reviews. Your hands-on experience with circuit simulation, PCB layout, and electrical verification will ensure product reliability and performance. This position supports critical products that streamline fiber optic data rates up to 1,600 Gbps for major telecommunications companies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and simulate schematics for hardware projects

• Conduct lab-based hardware debugging and validation

• Manage component qualification processes and spec reviews

• Analyze yield data to optimize manufacturing outcomes

• Perform hardware root cause analysis and reporting
Requirements:

• BEng/BASc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

• Proficient in hardware design documentation and PCB layout

• Knowledgeable with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and soldering

• Experience with Cadence Allegro toolset is a plus

• Strong technical communication skills are preferred
