Seeking a highly experienced FPGA professional to lead the design, development, and integration of advanced wireless communication systems. The role focuses on complex problem-solving, system architecture, and delivering innovative FPGA-based solutions aligned with next-generation radio technologies.
Key Responsibilities
System Architecture & Design
- Design and develop FPGA IP architectures for 4G/5G Radio Unit platforms
- Contribute to system-level architecture aligned with 3
GPP and O-RAN specifications - Translate high-level system requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications
RTL Development & Implementation
- Develop and integrate complex RTL modules using Verilog, System Verilog, and VHDL
- Optimize FPGA designs for performance, timing closure, and resource efficiency
- Make key design decisions including component selection and hardware optimization strategies
Verification & Validation
- Define and execute comprehensive verification strategies using UVM and advanced methodologies
- Perform simulation, debugging, and FPGA-level system validation
- Ensure design robustness through structured test planning and coverage analysis
Technical Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead technical initiatives and provide architectural and implementation guidance
- Collaborate closely with hardware, software, and radio system teams for seamless integration
- Mentor junior engineers and actively contribute to technical design reviews
- Engage with stakeholders and provide clear updates on progress and technical direction
Strategic & Analytical Contributions
- Contribute to product planning, technical evaluations, and system roadmaps
- Perform competitive and industry analysis to guide design and innovation choices
- Support development of scalable, cost-optimized hardware solutions
- Help define standards and best practices for FPGA-based product development
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience in FPGA design and RTL development
- Deep understanding of 4G/5G radio systems and wireless architecture
- Proficiency in , LTE, eCPRI/CPRI, and PTP protocols
- Experience with high-speed interfaces including JESD
204B/C, Ethernet, PCIe, AXI, and SERDES - Proficiency with tools such as Intel Quartus, Xilinx Vivado, MATLAB/Simulink, and HDL Coder
- Strong knowledge of UVM and modern verification methodologies
- Experience with Git/Git Hub and structured version control workflows.
- 7+ years of FPGA design experience in wireless, telecom, or high-speed digital systems
- Experience developing FPGA IP for high-volume production environments
- Exposure to O-RAN ecosystem and/or 3
GPP standardization work - Contributions to technical communities, standards bodies, or industry forums
