We’re supporting a leading automation and systems integration business on the search for experienced Robot Programmers to support Honda launch projects across North America.
This is a field based contract role supporting robotic integration, commissioning and production support within high volume automotive manufacturing environments. The work will involve travel between plant locations in Indiana and Ontario, supporting launch activities and troubleshooting directly on the production floor.
We’re looking for hands on Robot Programmers who enjoy fast paced projects, solving problems in live production environments and working closely with engineering teams during critical launch phases.

Weekend focused shutdown and launch support
Typical Schedule
- Travel Friday
- 12 hour shifts Saturday and Sunday
- Startup support Monday before returning home
- Expenses covered for days worked
- Program, configure and support industrial robotic systems within automotive manufacturing environments
- Work extensively with Yaskawa Motoman robots across production and launch activities
- Support robotic applications including welding, material handling and automated process systems
- Assist with commissioning, debugging and production line support during equipment launches
- Support light machine build activities including EOAT and robotic tooling integration
- Work closely with Engineering teams and Project Managers to execute project deliverables
- Provide onsite troubleshooting and field support for robotic and automation systems
- Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers and plant personnel throughout project delivery
- Strong hands on experience programming Yaskawa Motoman robots is essential
- Experience with at least one additional robot platform such as Fanuc, ABB or KUKA
- Background supporting robotic applications including welding, sealing, dispense or material handling
- Automotive manufacturing experience required
- Previous Honda project experience highly preferred
- Robust troubleshooting skills within live production environments
- Ability to work independently in a travel based role
- Valid passport required for US and Canada travel
- Experience with in Body Shop and welding environments
- Knowledge of robot I/O configuration including Device Net and Ethernet
- Experience optimising cycle times and robot performance
- Exposure to vision systems including Cognex or Sony
- Understanding of mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems
- Engineers who are hands on, self sufficient and comfortable supporting launch environments
- Individuals who can stay calm under pressure and troubleshoot effectively on the plant floor
- Strong communicators who can work closely with customers and project teams onsite
- People who enjoy being in the field and taking ownership of automation challenges from start to finish
