Senior Hardware Designer - Onsite Position
Location:
Ottawa, ON. Salary Range: $90,300 - $120,400 plus bonus opportunity.

- Engineer, design, develop, and test new embedded hardware at the forefront of technology.
- Support and enhance existing embedded hardware.
- Apply established development processes and assist in process improvement.
- Analyze requirements, research and identify solutions, and develop the design.
- Generate complete and accurate user and design documentation.
- Provide input to architecture and design reviews.
- Provide input and evaluation of new technologies and products.
- Keep current with embedded hardware trends and share knowledge.
- Contribute to the release of manufacturing technical data packages for products.
- Participate in maintaining a positive and productive atmosphere within the team.
- Driven and motivated self-starter with keen interest to learn.
- Strong understanding of electronics and engineering principles and application to real‑world use.
- Strong sense of responsibility, commitment to quality and achieving deadlines.
- Strong debug and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Results‑oriented team player who leads by example, holds themselves accountable, takes ownership, and champions process improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
- 8+ years of board‑level development and hands‑on lab experience (CO‑OP experience is applicable).
- Experience working with a multi‑disciplined team.
- Familiar with a product development process.
- Familiar with hardware test equipment – logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.
- Familiarity with principles of high‑speed digital circuit board design including signal integrity concepts.
- Experience with design capture tools (preferably Mentor Graphics), requirements capture, analysis, and tracking.
- Hobby projects with Raspberry Pi and/or Arduino.
- Familiarity with FPGAs.
- Passion for following the latest trends in computing.
