Aircraft Maintenance Engineer*
* ** Job Description*
* This role focuses on performing complex aircraft maintenance, modification, and inspection activities on CH147F helicopters within a highly regulated aerospace environment. You will assemble, disassemble, troubleshoot, and validate aircraft systems to ensure safety, reliability, and flight worthiness while working as part of a dedicated team supporting phase inspections at an air base facility.
** Responsibilities*
* Assemble, disassemble, and modify aircraft systems by changing, removing, replacing, or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement engineering changes.
Oversee the assembly, disassembly, or overhaul of aircraft structures and systems, ensuring all work meets technical specifications and regulatory requirements.
Configure aerospace vehicles and associated bench test equipment to support maintenance, testing, and modification activities.
Troubleshoot complex pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and perform effective repairs on faulty components.
Perform validation and verification testing of aircraft systems and components to confirm proper function and compliance with technical standards.
Document maintenance procedures, repairs, test results, modifications, and inspection outcomes in accordance with contractual, regulatory, and quality requirements.
Inspect components and completed repairs to verify compliance with flight worthiness requirements and safety standards.
Support and oversee on-the-job training for other technicians, sharing technical knowledge and best practices as required.
Work under general direction while exercising sound judgment to prioritize tasks, resolve technical issues, and maintain aircraft readiness.
Collaborate closely with a team of technicians and other stakeholders to support CH147F helicopter projects and phase inspections.
** Essential Skills*
* Minimum 4 years of aircraft maintenance experience, preferably in heavy maintenance environments.
Proven experience in aircraft repair, including assembling, disassembling, and modifying aerospace vehicle systems and components.
Strong troubleshooting skills in pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems, with the ability to isolate and repair complex mechanical and electrical faults.
Demonstrated ability to configure aerospace vehicles and use bench test equipment for system testing and validation.
Experience documenting maintenance activities, repairs, test results, and inspections to meet contractual and regulatory compliance requirements.
Ability to inspect components and verify repairs for flight worthiness in accordance with aviation standards.
Eligibility to handle US export-controlled technology and data.
Legal authorization to work in Canada.
Willingness to consent to a Canadian Government Controlled Goods Program (CGP) assessment and ability to meet safeguarding requirements for controlled goods.
Eligibility for Canadian Secret Level II security clearance, with at least reliability status required prior to starting and the ability to obtain Secret clearance within a defined timeframe.
High school diploma or GED, typically combined with 4 or more years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to work 100% onsite at an air base in a safety- and security-sensitive environment.
Willingness to relocate at own expense, if coming from out of province or out of area.

Skills & Qualifications *
* Post-secondary education in a relevant technical or aviation field.
AME, AP, or military equivalent level A qualification or similar aviation maintenance certification.
Formal CH147 type training course related to an aviation specialty, completed through an acceptable training organization.
Previous experience working on CH47 or CH147F platforms.
Experience supporting phase inspections or heavy maintenance programs on rotary-wing aircraft.
Familiarity with working under general direction in a structured, regulated aerospace environment.
Comfort working within export-controlled and controlled goods frameworks.
Ability to work occasional overtime when required to meet operational needs.
