Ciena seeks a Senior Build Engineer to enhance Linux distribution processes. This role focuses on build infrastructure for a next-generation network operating system, fostering engineering efficiency.
In this position, you'll leverage over 10 years of experience in crafting Linux distributions. Key responsibilities include developing Bitbake recipes, guiding teams on Yocto practices, and troubleshooting CI/CD integration issues effectively. You'll be at the forefront of optimizing build performance while ensuring security and scalability.
Key Responsibilities:
• Own and evolve SAOS 10.x build infrastructure
• Develop and maintain Bitbake recipes for software stacks
• Guide teams on Yocto and distribution engineering
• Diagnose complex CI/CD build integration issues
• Optimize distributed build performance and test reliability
Requirements:
• 10+ years in Linux distribution building experience
• Background in custom Linux distribution creation
• Proficiency in Go, Rust, C/C++, Python, or Bash
• Familiarity with modern C/C++ build systems
• Experience with CI/CD systems like Tekton or Jenkins
