About the Role

BDO Canada is looking for a Consultant or Senior Consultant in our Construction Advisory and Dispute Services practice. The role focuses on project controls, claims and disputes on complex construction projects from inception to completion.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct forensic delay analysis, quantum analysis, productivity analysis and insurance loss quantification for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects
  • Perform planning and project controls, including progress tracking, cost analysis, and loss quantification
  • Review project‑related costs such as labor, materials, and equipment
  • Read and analyze design documents and estimate material quantities
  • Utilize planning software such as Primavera and Microsoft Project to extract and analyze data
  • Research and interpret document control systems and project information sources
  • Collaborate with senior analysts to prepare or respond to delay and cost claims, and to produce expert reports
  • Support engagement proposals and contribute to business development initiatives
  • Attend industry conferences and events to expand knowledge
  • Visit project sites as needed

Experience and Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, quantity surveying or related discipline
  • Post‑graduate degree in Construction Management is an asset
  • 2-5 years of professional experience in a similar role or project‑management functions in the engineering and construction industry
  • Knowledge of cost estimation and cost planning for construction and infrastructure projects
  • Skilled in Primavera or other project‑scheduling software
  • Professional certifications such as PSP, CCP or CEC are an asset
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Effective communication skills
  • Willingness to travel within Canada and internationally as needed
Compensation

$68,000 – $104,000 annually.
