FEC Algorithm Development Engineer

Become a part of Celero Communications as a FEC Algorithm Development Engineer, specializing in high-speed optical communication technologies. Candidates should have a robust background in coding theory and digital communications.

Based in Ottawa or Vancouver, this role involves designing FEC algorithms that enhance optical transceivers for next-generation systems. The successful candidate will research FEC methodologies while collaborating with teams across DSP, ASIC, and firmware development. You will focus on trade-off analyses and ensure hardware implementations are efficient.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research and optimize forward error correction methodologies

• Develop coding architectures, including LDPC and staircase codes

• Simulate FEC performance in optical systems

• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams

• Develop simulation models for algorithm testing

Requirements:

• Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in relevant fields

• Expertise in coding theory and FEC schemes

• Programming skills in languages such as Python or MATLAB

• Experience with Git Hub version control systems

• Familiarity with hardware languages is advantageous
