Power Design Hardware Engineer at Ciena

Ciena seeks a talented Hardware Engineer specialized in power design for its Kanata, ON office. Join our hardware development team to innovate on optical and digital circuit packs.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on the design, implementation, and validation of cutting-edge circuit packs for Ciena’s Transport and Switching products. We're looking for creative engineers with strong communication and teamwork skills who are experienced in developing power systems. Collaborate with other hardware and mechanical teams, as well as external suppliers, to deliver impactful designs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop power and ground systems for platform equipment

• Design circuit-pack power solutions and create schematic layouts

• Collaborate with teams to realize hardware designs

• Conduct design verification and performance reviews

• Work with suppliers for components and subsystems

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Engineering degree

• 5+ years of industrial experience in electrical power systems

• Experience with Power lab test equipment

• Strong interpersonal skills in hardware development

• Knowledge of power design standards
