Why You’ll Love This RoleLumentum’s Switching BU is seeking a MEMS Design Engineer to support the design, verification, and optimization of MEMS devices for current and emerging applications. This role will focus on multi-physics modeling, layout and tolerance analysis, design verification, device characterization, failure analysis, and yield improvement during development and production ramp.
What You’ll Be Doing- Design and optimize MEMS devices for performance, manufacturability, and reliability.
- Perform multi-physics FEA and layout/tolerance analysis.
- Support design verification and device characterization.
- Lead failure analysis and structured root-cause investigations.
- Drive yield improvement during development and ramp.
- Support transition of concepts into robust MEMS designs.
- Collaborate with design, process, test, and manufacturing teams.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or related field.
Experience: The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of experience transitioning MEMS designs into manufacturing.
- Knowledge of MEMS fabrication processes and yield improvement.
- Experience with multi-physics FEA.
- Experience with layout and tolerance analysis.
- Experience in design verification, device characterization, and failure analysis.
- Strong structured problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.

Salary Range: $110,625 - $149,675 CAD (flexible). Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications.
