Senior Environmental Project Manager – Ottawa, ON
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented senior environmental project manager with at least ten years of experience in environmental site assessment and consulting services.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership, training, and operational support to junior and intermediate staff in environmental site assessment, remediation, and/or risk assessment.
- Manage the technical, schedule, and budgetary elements of projects, ensuring day‑to‑day project management and compliance with site, corporate, and regulatory standards.
- Serve as a resource in your area of expertise.
- Analyze and prepare documentation, presentations, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong field‑based experience in groundwater supply, hydrogeological investigations, and assessments.
- Oversee the planning and execution of Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) to CSA and O. Reg. 153/04 requirements.
- Oversee the planning and execution of excess soil to O Reg. 406/19 requirements.
- Work with familiarity in Ontario Regulation 153/04 and Ontario Regulation 406/19.
- Execute or learn the Record of Site Condition (RSC) filing process.
- Prepare proposals, track budgets, control costs, and invoice.
- Prepare technical reports.
- Liaise with contractors and clients.
- Evaluate data and propose solutions.
- Train and mentor junior‑intermediate staff.
- Complete peer reviews of technical documents and reports.
- Nurture strong client relationships and participate in business development activities.
- 10+ years of experience in environmental assessments and excess soil in Ontario.
- University degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Hydrogeology, or Geology.
- P.Eng. or P.Geo. license in Ontario with Qualified Person designation.
- Experience conducting Phase I and II ESAs, remediation programs, and excess soil management plans.
- Hydrogeology and hazardous materials experience is an asset.
- Working knowledge of O.Reg. 153/04 and 406/19 as amended.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and advanced technical writing abilities.
- Experience in budget management, report preparation, and client relationship management.
- Ability to solve problems, troubleshoot, and propose creative solutions.
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle access required.
- French language proficiency is an asset.
The salary range for this role is between $120 000 and $150 000, based on experience, qualifications, and location.
