Ciena, a global leader in high-speed connectivity, seeks an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer. This role requires 10+ years in design, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and the ability to generate engineering documentation. You will develop innovative designs and contribute to significant product improvements by applying DFMA methodologies to enhance manufacturability.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design mechanical components for advanced technologies
• Maintain design databases and engineering documentation
• Collaborate with product line and operations teams
• Conduct technical design reviews and risk assessments
• Support cost reduction activities with electrical hardware teams
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 10+ years of telecom or datacom design experience
• Proficient in Creo Parametric or similar CAD software
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills
• Experience with plastic and metal component design
