• Detail design of the installation and integration of avionics equipment to provide customized solutions for a wide variety of aircraft operational requirements.
• Provide expert technical guidance for aircraft systems, modifications, new project proposals and aircraft in‑service issues.
• Complete analysis, test plans, tests, documentation and other tasks as required for certification approvals.
• Lead and manage a variety of large and small avionics integration projects, provide cost estimates and project schedules; support or lead the avionics and electrical side of multi‑disciplinary projects.

Position is located within Aircraft Services Directorate HQ located at the Ottawa International Airport (200 Comet Private). Free parking is available. The work is in the office to support modifications, upgrades, maintenance and operations of aircraft located on site. Work also supports an aircraft fleet flying from bases across Canada. Be part of a multi‑disciplinary engineering team supporting a mix of civilian, military, fixed and rotary wing aircraft performing a wide variety of roles requiring specialized equipment and modifications in electrical and avionics systems.

Aircraft Services Directorate is a Design Approval Organization and an Aircraft Maintenance Organization and the operator of Canadian Coast Guard aircraft and other government and military aircraft.

The intent of this process is to staff one EN-ENG-04 position indeterminately in Ottawa, ON within the Aircraft Services Directorate. Depending on organizational needs, this selection process could also result in term appointments (temporary full‑time).

Your application must clearly explain how you meet the following:

• ED1:
  Graduation with a degree from a recognized university in aeronautical engineering, aerospace engineering, or an engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.
• OROC1:
  Eligibility for certification as a professional engineer in Canada with specialization in an engineering specialty relevant to the position.
• EX1:
  Experience** (defined as having 1 or more years of engineering experience whilst progressively acquiring increased responsibilities related to engineering in the aerospace industry) in the design approval and certification of aeronautical products.
• EX2:
  Experience** (defined as having 1 or more years of engineering experience whilst progressively acquiring increased responsibilities related to engineering in the aerospace industry) in troubleshooting, including identification, evaluation and rectification, of in‑service airworthiness problems.
• EX3:
  Significant
  ** experience (defined as having 3 or more years of engineering experience whilst progressively acquiring increased responsibilities related to engineering in the aerospace industry) in the design, development, integration, testing, or certification of Aircraft Avionics and Electrical Wiring Systems (AWM 523/525/527/529) or Aircraft Parts, Equipment, and Installation (AWM 537/551).
