The Equipment Engineering team in Alameda seeks a Mechanical Engineer to bridge R&D and capital project execution. This role emphasizes designing manufacturing-scale reactors and supports Sila’s cutting-edge Silicon Carbon anode technology. You will leverage your strong analytical skills, CAD expertise, and industrial experience to ensure the reliable and manufacturable deployment of reactor systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Execute mechanical design for manufacturing-scale reactors
• Perform thermal, fluid, and structural modeling for reactor validation
• Develop engineering packages including layouts and datasheets
• Ensure safety compliance through safety-by-design principles
• Participate in vendor coordination and factory acceptance testing
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 5+ years of mechanical design experience in industrial environments
• Proficiency in mechanical design software like Solid Works
• Technical expertise in reactor systems and high-temperature environments
• Strong skills in FEA and thermal modeling
