Location: Chalk River
Join CNL as a Waste Characterization Specialist in Chalk River, ON, where you will tackle complex challenges in waste management and contribute significantly to project success.
This hands-on position requires you to lead the full characterization process, interacting with various teams and managing fieldwork. You’ll prepare critical documentation and facilitate training sessions, ensuring high-quality results. Your expertise and leadership will guide others in achieving safety and operational excellence within the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct gap analyses and field walk‑downs
• Create and oversee characterization and sampling plans
• Coordinate field activities with service groups
• Review sample results and prepare comprehensive reports
• Mentor facility staff on characterization methodologies
Requirements:
• Honour's Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Science
• Five years’ experience in nuclear operations
• Knowledge of Radiation Protection and Waste Management
• Effective leadership and communication capabilities
• Must be eligible for Level 2 Secret security clearance
