Duties
Be part of a multi-disciplinary QUALITY ASSURANCE / CONTROL team supporting a mix of fixed and rotary-wing aircraft within Aircraft Services Directorate (ASD). ASD is an Aircraft Maintenance Organization, an Aircraft Training Organization, and Design Approval Organization of the Canadian Coast Guard.
The AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE INSPECTOR, QUALITY ASSURANCE provides expertise in interpretation and provision of functional guidance to headquarters and regional staff on policies and procedures for the control of operations and maintenance for both fixed and rotary wing fleet of aircraft.
The Inspector plans and carries out scheduled and random audits, and leads investigations and reporting on aircraft incidents and accidents to determine the causal factors.
The Inspector plays a key role in assessing the effectiveness of policies and procedures for the control of aircraft maintenance and Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) licensing within ASD.
Work environment
Position is located within Aircraft Services HQ located at the Ottawa International Airport (200 Comet Private). Free parking is available.
The work is in the office to support maintenance and operations of aircraft located on site. Work also supports an aircraft fleet flying from bases across Canada.
It is a hands-on team environment with technologists and engineers and in different specialties, (structures, interiors, and electrical and avionics systems), which requires regular interaction with technicians on site in line maintenance, structures, avionics, and flight crews. Projects range from small which you may take from concept to approval and flight in a short time, to larger team projects integrating multiple mechanical and electrical systems.

Possess a valid passport.
Possess a valid driver’s licence.
Possession of valid Canadian Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License, with the rating:
M1 or M2, or;
E, or;
SStrict adherence to the Department of National Defence and Canadian Forces Code of Values and Ethics, Values and Ethics Code for the Public Sector, Directive on Conflict of Interest, and Defence Administrative Orders and Directives (DAOD) 7021-1, Conflict of Interest.
Willing and able to travel, both domestically and internationally during operational roles, and in support of Aircraft Services Directorate and client operations.
Available and willing to work overtime on short notice during the week or on weekends.
Education
- ED1: A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
- ANDED2:
Successful completion of a post secondary school program in aircraft maintenance.
Occupational Certification:
- OC1:
Possession of valid Canadian Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License, with the rating. - M1 or M2, or;
