We are seeking an experienced, accomplished, and self-motivated candidate to fill a vacancy of a Senior Engineer, Group Leader in our Land Development group, based out of our Ottawa office. This position will develop and lead a group of Project Managers and technical support staff, and is responsible for the planning, design, construction inspection and administration of municipal infrastructure projects.
The Senior Engineer, Group Leader will also serve as Project Manager and provide support for multiple projects. This individual will be a progressive, collaborative and energetic professional engineer with at least 10 years of consulting experience.

Key Responsibilities- Communicate regularly with the Senior Manager to provide updates on actions and strategies to achieve group goals and targets
- Develop and execute quarterly business plans, set goals and targets for the group as established with the Senior Manager to expand both services provided and market areas
- Communicate regularly with other Group Leaders to discuss items of mutual interest - sharing resources, technical support, business development activities, etc.
- Assist and monitor Project Managers to establish and track budgets and project schedules and maintain staff utilization and profitability targets discussed with the Senior Manager
- Develop, manage, lead, train, discipline, mentor and motivate all members of the group
- Manage and complete project as a Senior Engineer, including budget, schedule and resource management, billings, and client liaison
- Lead business development and raise the profile of the department and the company
- Identify project opportunities in existing and new project areas, prepare work plans and proposals to acquire work
Position Requirements
- P.Eng. in the province of Ontario, registered with PEO
- Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience, preferably in the consulting environment
- Technical leader in relevant sector
- Demonstrated abilities as a team leader, responsible for managing a team of support staff
- Undertake business development with a desire to do more
- Understanding of business metrics and company policies and can work with staff to achieve desired outcomes
- Demonstrated high level of commitment
- Strong, relevant design and project management experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent technical and analytical skills
- Strong knowledge of appropriate design and analysis software
- Full knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Understanding of relevant legislation, guidelines and standards
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
