As the Configuration Management Specialist, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity, traceability, and control of Canada's CC295 Kingfisher aircraft configuration throughout the fleet lifecycle.
Working within the Engineering and Integrated Logistics Support teams, you will coordinate configuration management activities and collaborate with stakeholders across Air Pro, Airbus Defence and Space, PAL Aerospace, the Department of National Defence (DND), and the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). Working closely with the Engineering Manager, you will support engineering changes, maintain aircraft baselines and configuration records, and help ensure that technical data remains accurate, controlled, and compliant with contractual and airworthiness requirements.
This position is ideal for a resourceful and self-directed professional who enjoys working with multiple stakeholders, navigating complex technical environments, and driving configuration-related initiatives to successful completion while developing expertise in defence aerospace programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Act as the Configuration Management (CM) and Configuration Management System (CMS) subject matter expert and focal point, providing guidance and coordinating CM activities across project teams, engineering, logistics, technical publications, maintenance support, partner organizations, OEM, and the customer.
- Establish, execute, and continuously improve CM activities, processes, procedures, tools, and governance practices in accordance with Engineering, Airworthiness, and CM procedures and standards.
- Coordinate with internal and external partners to establish, maintain, and manage the Configuration Control Program for the aircraft Weapon System, including Configuration Identification and Configuration Change activities.
- Support the development, review, implementation, and progression of Engineering Change Proposals and approved configuration changes.
- Responsible for the execution and oversight of Configuration Status Accounting (CSA) activities, including:
- Control and maintenance of aircraft configuration baselines (allowed and as-maintained) within the CMS.
- Coordination and implementation of approved configuration changes within applicable program support systems.
- Control and maintenance of CSA register and associated configuration records.
- Monitoring configuration compliance and supporting continuing airworthiness activities.
- Lead CM meetings, configuration reviews, Configuration Control Boards, Change Review Boards, and other applicable governance forums.
- Independently identify configuration risks, discrepancies, and process gaps; recommend and implement corrective actions.
- Drive configuration-related activities to completion while balancing operational requirements, stakeholder priorities, and program objectives.
