Lumentum is searching for a skilled engineer dedicated to developing hermetic packaging for advanced optical systems. You will manage the full development cycle from design to high-volume production. This role requires a blend of optics, MEMS, and electronics expertise to propel our Optical Cross Connect Switch and Wavelength-Selective Switch products.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop hermetic packaging processes in collaboration with designers
• Innovate new sealing methods and expand our process toolbox
• Support assembly processes from inception to production
• Assist the broader Hermetics team with expertise and peer review
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s or MSc in Engineering Physics or related field
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Strong knowledge of materials science for optics
• Familiarity with assembly process development
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
