Hardware Development Co-Op at Ciena

Embark on a 4-month co-op with Ciena, the global leader in high-speed connectivity, focusing on hardware development for Packet Optical products. Gain hands-on experience while impacting hardware quality and lifecycle management.

Ciena is looking for a Co-Op student enrolled in Electrical Engineering or a related field. You will contribute to component obsolescence issues, verify hardware, and debug prototypes using advanced test equipment like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers. Collaborate with diverse teams, gaining valuable real-world experience in hardware design and testing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review alternate components for qualification and obsolescence

• Execute hardware verification plans and debug prototypes

• Investigate hardware issues from the field

• Modify circuit packs for testing purposes

Requirements:

• Active enrollment in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

• Familiarity with lab test equipment like oscilloscopes

• Understanding of high-speed signaling and digital design

• Experience in designing and debugging hardware (nice to have)

• Experience with PCB tools (nice to have)
