Teach geotechnical engineering in industry at uOttawa’s Main Campus, drawing on finite-element modeling and analysis expertise. Instruction is delivered in English.

The University of Ottawa seeks a regular part-time professor for CVG
6305, Special Topics in Civil Engineering
- Geotechnical Eng in Industry. This three-credit course belongs to the Department of Civil Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering. The Winter 2027 semester course expects 25 students and meets Thursdays from 8:30 to 11:30 at 801 King Edward.

Key Responsibilities:

Teach Special Topics in Civil Engineering
- Geotechnical Eng in Industry
Deliver instruction in English during the Winter 2027 semester
Teach the three-credit CVG
6305 course
Conduct scheduled Thursday classes at Main Campus

Requirements:

PhD in civil engineering, specializing in geotechnical engineering
Significant expertise in FE modeling of CVG geotechnical
Extensive FE analysis and structural design experience
Experience with code-based or performance-based structural design
Excellent oral communication skills in English
