Lead hazardous waste compliance for Veolia’s Canadian operations using regulatory expertise, waste routing knowledge, and advanced technical support. This national resource supports facilities and branches across Canada.
The Senior Hazardous Waste Compliance Specialist serves as a liaison between internal facilities and regional branches. The work spans waste processing, disposal approvals, systems administration, and environmental regulations. It also supports cross-provincial consistency, US coordination, and technical guidance for Canadian operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Approve disposal capabilities and Waste Acceptance Program requirements
- Develop routing plans based on capacity, cost, and acceptance criteria
- Review waste profiles and assign appropriate treatment codes
- Maintain disposal pricing, cost models, and facility approvals
- Advise operations on hazardous material handling protocols
- Bachelor’s degree or environmental or chemical engineering technology diploma
- Five or more years in hazardous waste or environmental compliance
- Expertise in TDG, DOT, and LDR requirements
- Knowledge of Ontario Reg 347 and Quebec regulations
- RPRA Hazardous Waste Program subject matter expertise
